MAC Divine Night - Interview & BTS with John Stapleton

MAC is really turning up the glam with their new holiday line, Divine Night.  For inspiration, the collection reflected on famous Studio 54 nights, & those luxuriously fierce 70's femme fatales.  I was blessed enough to score an exclusive interview with MAC Senior Artist John Stapleton while on the last leg of the MAC Divine Night tour.  Did you catch their amazing performances at Ala Moana Center's Center Stage??? Haute, haute, haute.

Spring makeup is so subtle & naked that I find the Divine Night's collection that much more powerful.  The "Past Midnight" (blackish purple) eyeshadow blended with the "Exquisite Ego" (bronze) is the new smokey eye!  Why not throw in that decadent deep purple?!  Use the Eye Kohl pencil in "Smolder" inside the waterline & out, then smudge to your hearts desire to get that...well...smolder!  The luscious lips are lined with "Currant" Lip Pencil and finished with "Prepare for Pleasure" Lipstick.   Try "Center of Attention" Mineralize Skinfinish to buff up those highlights & "Talk of the Town" Mineralize Blush.

Faves & Tips from John : Here in the islands with our humidity & heat he suggests Pro Longwear Foundation.  It's a matte, 15-hour, liquid foundation with a great color range of bronzes for us!  Throw on a little Iridescent Powder to amp up that sexy shimmer.  His favorite eyeliner (especially for our weather) is PRO Longwear Eye Liner in "Black Ice".  It's a 12-hour, water resistant pencil for smudge-free color. The Divine Night look is heavy on it's own but as it gets darker, don't be afraid to layer on that shimmer & accent those contours for that "candle lit" appeal.

The lovely ladies & handsome men of MAC.  Stapleton recreated the makeup from their campaign visuals but added his own sparkle, literally. :) Both gals & guys glittered, shimmered, & shone under the spotlights.  The glitter is found only in their PRO stores- &, luckily, Hawaii is one! Sidebar: Can I please be a Swarovski rhinestone on one of those chiseled abs??

Soul singer Sydney Arcane steamed up the stage between her powerful vocals &  MAC dancers.  Talk about having that exclusive Studio 54 vibe!

Thank you MAC for this amazing experience.  The show team & staff at the Ala Moana store are truly phenomenal.
