NYFW - New York, New York

Most of you have kept up with my recent trip to New York Fashion Week through my "Dear Diary" column in Lei Chic.  It was a 3 part series that tracked my travel adventures as a Fashion Week virgin and NY tourist.  For everyone who hasn't read it, you can find it here PART I, PART II, & PART III.  Since most of my thoughts are already published, my next few blog posts will be mostly pictures with small side-bars.

I do want to say that NY has thoroughly changed my life.  I feel more inspired than ever to be brave & pursue those dreams I have labeled as "too big".  I guess we will just have to see what happens next...

I literally had to go from plane to Lincoln Center.  I'm glad that you all responded so well to my OOTD since it's not easy to fly 9 hours, go straight to work, AND look NYFW worthy.  You would not believe the crowd that lingers outside just to style stalk!  "You best be dressed your best," is all I could think haha.

Button Down + Cardigan - Nordstrom.  "Joni" high-waisted skinny - Top shop.  "Everly" boot by Jeffery Campbell.  Necklace - Florencia Arias.  Sunnies - Roberta Oaks.

My very first show at NYFW is BCBG Max Azria.  It was PACKED & I'm slightly overwhelmed by the whole thing but nevertheless excited to be a part of it.  These are a few of my favorite looks from his Spring 2014 collection.

Tadashi Shoji is already a favorite designer of mine so getting invited to his show was like getting stuck by lightening - electrifying, once-in-a-lifetime, & life altering!  His designs really speak to me on so many levels! I love his retro inspired shapes, unwavering femininity, & playful mix of textiles.  He is one of my TOP shows this trip.

My last show of the day was by Desigual.  To compliment the bright colors & bold prints, the runway show was flirty & playful.  I loved how fun it was in contrast to how serious fashion week can be.  It was the perfect way to end the day.
