ALOHA! It's not quite Aloha Friday yet…but I've been dying to feature this shirt & couldn't wait till the weekend. Besides, it's the perfect, vibrantly-colored, work outfit to catch some extra credit attention.
Tucked away amid the streets of the famous Waikiki is the boutique Kona Bay Hawaii. Owner KC Kiuchi has been inspired true vintage aloha print shirts. He recreates by-gone designs into affordable modern-fit choices for his customers. His fabrics are THE SOFTEST & the fit (especially these women's shirts) are impeccable. Next time you're in Waikiki, make sure to stop by Kona Bay…try on a shirt, you won't regret it.
I know the prints can boarder on the crazy side but you can def tone them down with more muted colors & simple silhouettes. I chose this lovely vintage pencil skirt from Barrio Vintage.
I also left accessories off except my "hipster" sunglasses haha. Nerds are cool & I think glasses are a sexy touch.
I didn't want to give you cliche beach shots in an aloha shirt so we shot in China Town. It was a fun shoot & toward the tail end of our wandering we found the most beautiful red door to accent the look. For those outtakes & more, visit my Instagram @summerstylehi.
